Frequently Asked Questions
What do you mean by invigorate your mind, body, and spirit?
Studies have indicated that many areas of discomfort result from stress. Massage is an effective therapy in managing stress, resulting in decreased anxiety, greater energy, increased circulation, reduced pain, reduced fatigue, and/or headache pain. When your body feels good, your mind is more relaxed and able to better focus on other life issues. It follows that Spirit or mood is enhanced when your mind and body are in a state of well-being.
Does therapy hurt?
Your physical condition or dysfunction is the source of your pain. Massage will treat those areas, and you will most likely feel better at the end of the treatment. During the massage, we will obtain feedback from you about your level of comfort and make adjustments as needed. If you are uncomfortable at any time during the massage, feel free to be open about your feelings.
How much of my body will be massaged?
If being treated for a specific injury or condition, the entire session may focus on a single area. There may also be a need to treat other body areas that are contributing to the primary area of discomfort.
Do I need to disrobe?
Clients are appropriately draped at all times. The amount of clothing you need to remove depends largely on the extent of the treatment you are receiving. After our initial consultation, we will let you know what clothing needs to be removed.
How often will I need treatment?
This will vary depending on the severity of your condition. Once we assess the areas requiring attention, we will be in a position to not only determine the appropriate treatment but also the frequency of maintenance treatments that can be of benefit. Your massage experience will guide you about ongoing treatments.
